Quick match is used for linking your shells together for instant fire. It is also used as leader fuse on commercial aerial shells shells and homemade aerial shells.

this fuse burns instantly when encased in the casing calling it quick match when you remove the outside casing showing the black strings then it is called black match and burns very slowly. Black match pieces is used in conjunction with time fuse as time fuse is hard to ignite you would puncture the time fuse or slice it inserting a piece of the bare black match and tying it off, securing it inside the time fuse as your lift charge lights and it launches the shell the fire transfers from the lift charge to the black match piece that is tied to the time fuse thus igniting the time fuse for proper timing and reliable, ignition and combustion of your aerial shell for your beautiful colored display
